The First Decan of Libra
2024 October Tarot:
Tarot is divided into 22 Major Arcana, what I like to call the ‘name’ cards and 56 Minor Arcana that are like the cards in a regular playing deck with an extra court card. Each decan of the sun’s travel astrologically has a minor arcana card and a major arcana card associated with it. Sometimes there is more than one card associated with the decan from these two divisions of the deck.
RIght now, Sep 30, 2024, we are still in the first decan of the sign of Libra. That means that the Sun is between 0 and 9 degrees in Libra. Each decan had 10 degrees. Each sign has 3 decans.
When I do a chart for a day, I typically set it for 12 noon at the closest large city near me. This way I ‘split the difference between the beginning and ending of the day.

In the chart above, the Sun is at 7 degrees Libra, within the first decan. The Minor Arcana card associated is the Two of Swords. Swords represent air signs and Libra is the Cardinal air sign in the zodiac.
